Digital Desk: Environment Minister Gopal Rai announced on Friday that the odd-even car rationing scheme will not be implemented from November 13 as Delhi's air quality has improved following overnight rain.
The program allows cars to function on different days according to the registration number's odd or even last digit.
Speaking at a press conference, Rai stated that the Delhi government will assess the condition of the air quality after Diwali and may decide to implement the odd-even plan if conditions worsen once again.
"People cannot be allowed to die. All chief secretaries should take action, or they will be called here," the Supreme Court stated.

"The odd-even scheme will only have a minimal impact, close to 13 percent," the court stated. It continued, "Meetings are happening, but nothing at ground level."
In an affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court on Thursday, the Delhi government claimed that traffic congestion has decreased as a result of its odd-even vehicle emissions reduction program. This occurred two days after the odd-even plan to reduce car emissions in the capital was referred to as "optics" by the Supreme Court.
Earlier, Rai announced the odd-even scheme that was enforced between November 13 and November 20.
