Bizzare! Noida woman finds 'Centipede' insect inside Amul Ice Cream tub ordered online

Digital Desk: In a bizarre incident, a woman discovered a centipede inside an Amul vanilla ice cream tub she ordered online in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred on Saturday when the woman, Deepa, a resident of Noida's Sector-12, received her ice cream from Blinkit. Upon opening the tub, she found the dead centipede frozen and embedded inside the ice cream.

Deepa immediately took to social media, sharing a video of the unpleasant discovery and detailing her experience. The video quickly went viral, prompting Blinkit to refund her purchase and launch an investigation. Amul also reached out to Deepa, assuring her of a thorough inquiry into the matter.

Following the viral video, officials from the food department visited Deepa's residence to gather more information. They then inspected the Blinkit store in Sector-22, from where the contaminated ice cream had been dispatched. During their inspection, they noted significant dust accumulation at the store, raising serious hygiene concerns. Samples of the ice cream were collected and sent for testing to determine the extent of contamination.

This unsettling discovery comes just days after another shocking incident in Mumbai. Dr. Brendan Ferrao, a resident of Orlem in Malad, found a human finger in a butterscotch ice cream cone from Yummo Ice Creams. Dr. Ferrao initially thought the object in his mouth was a large nut, only to realize it was a finger with a nail. He promptly filed a complaint, leading to a forensic investigation of the ice cream.

In response, Yummo Ice Creams ceased production at the third-party facility responsible for the tainted product. The company isolated the affected batch in their warehouses and initiated efforts to remove it from the market. Yummo Ice Creams is also committed to improving its quality control measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

Both incidents highlight serious lapses in food safety protocols and have sparked widespread concern among consumers. Authorities and companies involved are under pressure to ensure such occurrences are not repeated, emphasizing the need for stringent quality control in the food industry.
