Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared photos of himself taking selfies with locals in Srinagar, Jammu, and Kashmir, after leading a programme for the 10th International Yoga Day on Friday.
In a post on X, PM Modi shared four photos capturing moments with local women, captioning them, "Post Yoga selfies in Srinagar! Unparalleled vibrancy here, at the Dal Lake."
Earlier in the day, PM Modi performed yoga at an indoor facility in Srinagar, as early morning rainfall disrupted the scheduled outdoor event.
Addressing the gathering at the International Yoga Day event, the Prime Minister emphasized yoga’s global significance, stating that it has helped people understand that their welfare is interconnected with the world around them.
"The world is looking at yoga as a powerful agent of global good. Yoga helps us live in the present moment without the baggage of the past," he said. PM Modi highlighted the inner peace yoga fosters, which he believes translates into a positive impact on society. He remarked, "When we are peaceful within, we can also make a positive impact on the world... Yoga is making new ways of positive change in society." International Yoga Day is celebrated annually on June 21.
