Rahul Dravid congratulated Virat Kohli for playing his historic 100th Test for Team India. Kohli praised Dravid and his family for achieving the historic feat in an emotional speech.
Digital Desk: India's head coach Rahul Dravid congratulated Virat Kohli following his 100th Test match at the
Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium in Mohali on the 1st Day of the opening Test between India and Sri Lanka.
Kohli is the 12th Indian cricketer to achieve the milestone for the Indian team and joins Dravid in the elite group. The 33-year-old has become the 71st player in world cricket to do the same.
As Kohli received the cap, he referred to Dravid as one of his childhood idols and thanked the BCCI and his family. "Thank you, Rahul, this is a special moment for me. My wife is here, my brother is in the stands. It's a team game and it would not have been possible without you. Thanks, BCCI too. I couldn't have received it from a better person, my childhood hero. I still have the photos with you from my U-15 days," Kohli said.

With 164 Test matches for India, Dravid is among the elite list of Indian cricketers who have played 100 Test matches. There is also Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, Sourav Ganguly, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Venksarkar, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, and Ishant Sharma.
In Test cricket, Kohli has scored 7962 runs at an average of 50.4. Kohli also has 27 centuries to his name. In 68 matches, Kohli has won 40 times, making him India's most successful captain in history.
