Students demand re-exam claiming errors in NEET 2021 results

New Delhi: The results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 were declared on November 1. Several students claim the results of the NEET 2021 have varying results consisting of errors. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the results on its official website neet.nta.nic. in which saw as many as three students securing full marks.

Students claim their marks when calculated on the basis of the answer key varied with the original result by a considerable margin. The students have taken their grievances to Twitter by putting up the hashtag #NEETscam #NEETResult2021.

There were few others who also objected over receiving two ranks and their scrorecards of the medical entrance exam. One of the students while speaking to a national daily said, “On every scorecard, NTA has mentioned the all-India rank obtained – both overall rank and the rank for counseling –for every student. In my case, there two different ranks awarded to me are for the counseling process itself, which is confusing.”

Students are also upset because of several controversies surrounding the medical entrance test. The NEET 2021 was marred by various controversies including an alleged paper leak to an impersonator racket.

This year, the score to get admissions to medical colleges across the country is in the range of 138 to 720. The counselling process schedule is expected to be released by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) soon at mcc.nic.in.

The counselling will be held at two levels — the All India quota (AIQ) seats and the state level. While 15 per cent of seats are reserved under the AIQ, 85 per cent of seats will be filled by the respective state counselling authorities.

Three students have scored a perfect score of 720 outof 720 this year to secure top three ranks. Right at the top is Mrinal Kutteri from Hyderabad followed by Delhi's Tanmay Gupta and Mumbai's Karthika G. Nair. At Rank 4 is Aman Kumar Tripathi with 716 marks. Incidentally, 15 students have secured 715 marks. Out of these, 11 have been placed at Rank 5, 2 at Rank 17 and remaining 2 at Rank 19. Check complete list below.
