    Will it rain on Republic Day? Check IMD forecast for January 26
    The IMD went on to say that till January 27 in the morning and evening, there is a chance of dense to extremely dense fog and chilly temperatures in Delhi NCR.


    Digital Desk: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a ‘partly cloudy sky’ and ‘shallow fog’ in the morning hours on the Republic Day celebrated on January 26. The highest temperature is expected to be around 20 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature is predicted to be around 7 degrees Celsius.

    The IMD went on to say that till January 27 in the morning and evening, there is a chance of dense to extremely dense fog and chilly temperatures in Delhi NCR.

    Many may not know, but on January 24, 1950, when 284 members of the Constituent Assembly signed the Indian Constitution, it also poured. In addition, Republic Day in 2015, 2017, and 2019 witnessed rain.
     
    Republic Day 2024: What’s special?

    ·        The R-Day celebrations this year will be largely ‘women-centric’. For the first time, the parade will be heralded by 100 women artists with Indian musical instruments, Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane told PTI. The parade will also witness an all-women tri-services contingent marching down the ceremonial boulevard.

    ·        Around 14,000 security personnel will be deployed in and around Kartavya Path to ensure tight security, said Delhi Police officials.

    ·        Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the 77,000 invitees of the R-Day parade.

    ·        Missing persons booths, help desks, first-aid stalls and facilitation booths, where the visitors can deposit their vehicle keys before the parade, have also been set up.

    ·        Besides this, a replica of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation’s (NCRTC) Namo Bharat train will also make an appearance on the tableau of Uttar Pradesh during the Republic Day parade.

    ·        French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest at this year’s Republic Day celebrations.

    ·        The Ministry of Culture will showcase ‘Anant Sutra — The Endless Thread’ textile installation at Kartavya Path.
