The woman's husband insisted on taking her to a location in India instead of taking her abroad...
Digital Desk: A woman from Madhya Pradesh filed for divorce from her husband just five months after being married claiming that he had promised her a honeymoon trip in Goa but had taken her to Ayodhya and Varanasi instead. A strange case reached the Bhopal family court on January 19, 10 days after the couple returned from their trip.
The woman claimed in her divorce petition that her spouse is well-paid for his employment in the IT sector. Since she works and makes a good living, it wasn't a huge deal for them to spend their honeymoon abroad.
The woman's husband insisted on taking her to a location in India instead of taking her abroad, even though there were no financial constraints. The couple decided to spend their honeymoon in Goa or South India after he explained that he had to take care of his parents.
However, he later booked tickets to Varanasi and Ayodhya without telling his wife. Just one day before their departure, he told her that their itinerary had altered and they would now be visiting Ayodhya instead of Ram Mandir because his mother wanted to see the city before the consecration ceremony.
At the time, she had no objections to the journey and carried it out without any problems. But she filed for divorce from her husband at the family court as soon as they got back from their pilgrimage locations. She also claimed in her statement that her husband looked after her family members better than she did. Meanwhile, her husband claimed that his wife was just making a lot of fuss.
The couple is currently receiving counseling at the Bhopal Family Court.
