With a leap of 90 percent fresh rising covid cases in India within 24 hours, 214 people died. The country recorded four deaths in the same period the day before.
Digital Desk: According to India's health ministry data, the country saw an approximately 90 percent increase in daily Covid cases from Sunday to Monday, with 2,183 new infections. It's the first time the country has had more than 2,000 cases in a single day in nearly a month (2,075 cases were registered on March 19).
In addition, 214 deaths were recorded in the previous 24 hours. It's unclear whether the number of deaths was updated as part of the backlog data. The daily positivity rate is, Eighty-three percent, while the weekly positivity rate is.32 percent.
On Sunday, the country recorded an increase of 1,150 coronavirus infections and four deaths across the country.

With a high raise of 940 cases, Kerala had the greatest number of cases out of all the states.

Furthermore, the WHO has alerted a highly transmissible XE strain, with two cases reported by government officials in Mumbai and Gujarat.
