India enters again in the Guinness Book of World Records by waving 78,220 national flags simultaneously

India has set a new record in waving the National Flag in the presence of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah.

Digital Desk: India is currently prevailing many records in the Guinness Book, and the most recent one is on Saturday, 78,220 people in Bihar's Bhojpur simultaneously waved the national flag, setting a Guinness world record in a celebration of 75 years of independence - 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.' "In the presence of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, India has created a record in waving the National Flag simultaneously," the ministry of culture said in a statement.

According to the Guinness World Records certificate, "The most people waving flags was achieved by Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Culture, Government of India (India), to celebrate Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' at Jagdishpur, Bhojpur, Bihar, India on April 23, 2022."

The 'Amrit Mahotsav' was hosted to mark the 164th anniversary of freedom fighter Veer Kunwar Singh, a pivotal figure in the 1857 revolt. On April 23, 1858, Veer Kunwar Singh fought his final battle near Jagdishpur, defeating the East India Company. Kunwar Singh died in the country's service after removing the Union Jack flag from Jagdishpur Fort.

Amit Shah was joined in lifting the tricolour for five minutes by top BJP leaders from Bihar, including Union ministers R K Singh and Nityanand Rai, deputy chief ministers Tarkishor Prasad and Renu Devi, and their predecessor Sushil Kumar Modi, as the national anthem 'Vande Mataram' played in the background.

According to the government, "In his speech, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has envisioned India leading the world by 2047, and this can be our true tribute to all brave freedom fighters like Veer Kunwar Singh." "Babu Kunwar Singh was also a great social reformer who brought the welfare of the backward and oppressed to the nation's attention at the time."
