Seven of the 19 suspended members are TMC members, while six DMK MPs, three TRS, two CPM, and one CPI are also suspended.
Digital Desk: Three more MPs—two from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and one independent were suspended on Thursday from the Rajya Sabha for the rest of this week on suspicion of interfering with the House's proceedings.
Sushil Kumar Gupta, Sandeep Kumar Pathak, and independent MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan are among the AAP MPs who have been suspended from the House.
With this action, there are now a total of 23 MPs who have been expelled from the Rajya Sabha since Tuesday.
They were suspended after interrupting the proceedings by entering the House's well, shouting slogans, and holding placards while showing complete contempt for the House and the Chair's authority, Deputy Chairman, Harivansh Narayan Singh, said.
"They were suspended from the service of the Council for the balance of the current week under rule 256," the chair declared.
Sanjay Singh, an AAP member, was suspended from the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday for the duration of this week for "throwing paper on the Chair" during the House's proceedings on Tuesday.
For repeatedly interrupting the proceedings in the Upper House, a total of 19 opposition MPs were suspended for the rest of this week. The Upper House had never suspended so many members in a single batch. Due to the disturbance they had caused during the Monsoon Session on the agriculture bills, 12 opposition MPs were suspended in November of last year for the entire Winter Session.

TMC members include Sushmita Dev, Mausam Noor, Shanta Chhetri, Santanu Sen, Abir Ranjan Biswar, Dola Sen, and Md. Nadimul Haque; DMK members include Kanimozhi NVN Somu, S Kalyanasundaram, R Girranjan, M Hamamed Abdulla, NR Elango, and M Shanmugam; TRS members include B Lingaiah Yad.
During the current Monsoon session of Parliament, a total of 27 MPs, including 23 Rajya Sabha MPs and 4 Lok Sabha MPs, have been suspended.
