Digital Desk: In a politically charged move, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released a video on its official X handle, casting doubt on the authenticity of the sibling bond between Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The video, which surfaced on Sunday morning, raises questions about whether the relationship between the two is genuinely that of an ordinary brother and sister or if Congress is strategically employing Priyanka for political gains.

The video features candid moments captured between Rahul and Priyanka, showing them sharing laughter and affectionate interactions. However, the underlying implication is that these moments may be orchestrated to portray a semblance of normalcy when, according to the BJP, that may not be the reality.

The BJP contends that the Congress party is exploiting Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for political advantages, alleging that familial rivalry has marginalized her within the political landscape. The video underscores the contrast between Rahul Gandhi's electoral performance, including 39 electoral defeats, and his continued credit for electoral victories. It further suggests that the dynamics between the siblings do not resemble those of typical brothers and sisters, with Priyanka appearing more assertive yet the party consistently following Rahul's lead. Additionally, the video raises questions about Priyanka's absence from significant alliance meetings, implying that this is not coincidental.

Notably, the video points out the absence of a rakhi tied to Rahul Gandhi's wrist even on Raksha Bandhan, a Hindu festival celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters.

Accompanying the video, the BJP tweeted, "Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka's relationship is not like that of an ordinary brother and sister. Priyanka is faster than Rahul, but the party is dancing to Rahul's tune, and Sonia Gandhi is also fully aligned with him! This is why Priyanka has been absent from the Ghamandiya alliance meetings! Watch the video to see how the sister is being used solely for election campaigns."

However, the video did not sit well with Congress and its ally parties. Congress social media head Supriya Shrinate responded with a scathing tweet, accusing the BJP of spreading lies. She wrote on X, "BJP Charanchampaks, Your boss left the family and ran away, it doesn't mean that all families are like this! Do talk about the issues sometime - now being frustrated you are spreading lies that Rahul ji did not tie Rakhi. This anger is natural because of the war waged by both the brother and sister against your market of lies and hatred. Hey guys, get both your eyes and brain treated. Rahul ji not only tied a rakhi, but he keeps tying that rakhi throughout the year."

Shrinate further shared images of Rahul Gandhi tying a Rakhi on Raksha Bandhan, along with an old video where Rahul can be seen stating that he wears a Rakhi for the entire year until it naturally tears away, proving their bond.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also lashed out at the BJP for the video. She shared a screenshot of the BJP's post on X and wrote, "The language and the content of this video tweeted by the BJP handle clearly suggest that the script was written by Silly Souls Production and produced by Foolish Trolls Company. Must pity the new levels BJP can plumb to for their desperation to be in power."

The video release and subsequent social media exchange highlight the intense political polarization in India as the country gears up for the next general elections, with both major political parties engaging in a fierce battle of narratives.
