Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Welcomes Ajit Pawar to His Coalition, says Double-Engine Govt Steer to Get 'Bullet Train's Pace Now'
CM Eknath Shinde lauded Ajit Pawar's appointment as Deputy Chief Minister while also criticising Sharad Pawar's NCP...

Digital Desk: On Sunday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknaths Shinde claimed that NCP dissident Ajit Pawar's decision to join his cabinet is a big achievement for the party. He went on to say that now that the BJP is in power at both the federal and state levels, his "double-engine" government will "run at the speed of a bullet train."

"This is not a new administration. PM Modi's leadership oversaw the Shiv Sena and the BJP administration. Development work was being carried out, and Ajit Pawar, who believed in development work, backed and joined the government," Eknath Shinde stated, as quoted by ANI.

On Sunday, Ajit Pawar and eight other NCP MPs joined the National Democratic Alliance cabinet led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Aside from Ajit, who became Deputy Chief Minister, the other eight MLAs were appointed as state Ministers.

Ajit Pawar claimed that his side is the actual Nationalist Congress Party and that it has the support of 40 of the 58 Legislative Assembly members. He asserted that the NCP had joined the ruling coalition as a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and development measures.

Notably, PM Modi's leadership is the tree giving shade and aiding the country to develop. "We will fight with them (BJP) in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, which is why we have made this decision," he stated.

On Sunday, Ajit Pawar, Chhagan Bhujbal, Dilip Wolse Patil, Aditi Tatkare, Dhananjay Munde, Hasan Mushrif Ramra and Nimbalkar, Sonjoy Bansode, and Anil Bhaidas Patil were sworn in at Raj Bhawan.

After Ajit Pawar and other Nationalist Congress Party figures joined the Maharashtra administration, party chairman Sharad Pawar said, "This is not googly, it is a robbery," and expressed concern for the future of those who left the party.
