Digital Desk: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially formed an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, as confirmed by TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. The alliance solidified after a series of discussions.
During a media interaction, Chandrababu Naidu expressed confidence in the alliance, emphasizing its potential to address the challenges faced by Andhra Pradesh. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and highlighted the alliance as a positive development for both the country and the state.
Amit Shah took to Instagram to inform the news, says, “Today, affirming their trust in the leadership of Modi Ji the Telugu Desam Party and the Jana Sena Party have joined the NDA. I welcome Shri Chandrababu Naidu and Shri Pawan Kalyan to the NDA. Their association will expedite the fulfillment of the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh.“
Reports indicate that the BJP and Jana Sena will jointly contest approximately 8 and 30 Lok Sabha and Assembly seats, respectively, while the TDP will vie for the remaining 17 Lok Sabha and 145 Assembly seats. The seat-sharing agreement was reached after intense negotiations involving key leaders, including Naidu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J P Nadda, and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan.
The alliance's formation comes after the second round of talks, and Naidu asserted that the collaboration would lead to a sweeping victory, criticizing the current ruling YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh.
