Digital Desk: Aam Aadmi Party Convenor Arvind Kejriwal today
received Dalit sanitation worker Harsh Solanki at his Delhi residence as the
party ramps up its Gujarat assembly election campaign. Mr Solanki gave him a
portrait of BR Ambedkar. The Delhi Chief Minister was seen hugging his special
guest in photos from the meeting.
AAP also greeted him at the airport and escorted him to Mr
Kejriwal's residence for lunch. Raghav Chadha, AAP's Gujarat co-incharge, was
seen greeting Mr Solanki and his family with folded hands at the airport.
"We never expected this to happen; it feels like we're
dreaming with our eyes open. I've never met a leader before, and today we're
going to the home of the Chief Minister. We expect AAP to work for the benefit
of Gujarat's Valmiki community "Mr Solanki stated, accompanied by his
mother and younger sister.

"We never expected this to happen; it's as if we're
dreaming while awake. I've never met a leader before, and today we're going to
the Chief Minister's house. We anticipate that AAP will work for the benefit of
Gujarat's Valmiki community "Mr Solanki made the statement while
accompanied by his mother and younger sister.
Arvind Kejriwal welcomed Mr Solanki and said his family was
waiting for him at his home.
"I have a request, Sir. Will you come to the home of
someone from the Valmiki community and have a meal the same way you came to
Gujarat last time and had a meal at the home of an auto-driver?" Mr
Solanki stated during the townhall meeting.
"I'll definitely come to your house, Harsh. But first,
I'd like to make a suggestion. Will you agree, "According to Mr. Kejriwal.
Mr Kejriwal stated after Mr Solanki agreed, "I've seen all of the leaders
go to Dalit homes to eat before elections. However, no leader has ever invited
a Dalit to his home. Will you come to my house for dinner?"
The audience responded with loud cheers and claps when the
invitation was accepted.
Gujarat, where elections are due later this year, is the
AAP's next major target after Delhi and Punjab.
