PM Hasina will meet with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar while she is in New Delhi. Hasina would probably go to Ajmer Sharif as well. She last went to India in October of this year.
According to ANI, Arindam Bagchi, a spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Hasina's visit to India "will strengthen the multifaceted relations between the two nations, which are built on historical and cultural links, mutual trust and understanding."
The Daily Star claimed that Bangladeshi Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen had previously stated that PM Hasina may visit New Delhi in the first week of September.
Momen reported that talks between the two nations are taking place to decide on a time for Sheikh Hasina to visit New Delhi in the first part of September.
He added that the Bangladeshi side has suggested that a date during the first 10 days of September or the first week of September would be convenient.
However, at that time, the Bangladesh Foreign Minister said that the date would be finalised soon through discussions so that the visit could take place before the beginning of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).
The 77th session of the UNGA will open on September 13 this year. Momen said Bangladesh and India decided to implement the bilateral decisions ahead of Hasina's India visit.
