His legacy reminds us of the importance of self-reliance, courage,...
Digital Desk: Asaduddin Owaisi, the head of AIMIM,
provided his (unfavourable) perspective on the Maharashtra crisis on Saturday,
referring to individuals engaged as "monkeys" and characterised the
situation as "a dance of monkeys... hopping from one branch to
another." He declared that since this was a Shiv Sena and Maha Vikas
Aghadi government internal problem, neither he nor his party would get
involved.
"This is Maha Vikas Aghadi's
problem; let them think about it. Why should I visit that location and speak
up? We are monitoring the developing drama "Owaisi stated.
When questioned about the
circumstance, Owaisi shrugged: "It appears to be a monkey dance. They
behave as though they are hopping from one branch to another like
monkeys."
The Maharashtra crisis started on
Wednesday as dissident Sena leader Eknath Shinde left for BJP-ruled Gujarat
with members of his party and independent MPs.
The Shinde camp announced earlier today that their group would be
called "Shiv Sena (Balasaheb)" in reference to the late party
patriarch Balasaheb Thackeray, who is the father of chief minister Uddhav
Thackeray. Over the past four days, Shinde's numbers have increased to 47 - 38
Sena MLAs, nine independent - which is enough to claim control of his party.
The chief minister gave a raucous response to the statement.
"I won't meddle in the rebels' affairs... The name Balasaheb Thackeray
should never be used, though."
This afternoon, after meeting with the party's national executive,
Thackeray told the MP Sanjay Raut that if they wanted to run for office, they
had to do it under their fathers' names.
