    Eknath Shinde's easy floor test win, Team Uddhav files new SC plea

    two weeks of political unrest in Maharashtra, the Eknath Shinde government
    easily reached the majority-mark on Monday, winning the trust vote. Shiv Sena's
    Uddhav Thackeray faction filed a new petition in the Supreme Court on Monday
    against the assembly speaker's choice to recognise a new whip for the party. In
    the 288-member parliament, 164 votes were cast in favour of the new coalition.

    In the 24 hours prior to
    the trust vote, two Sena MLAs changed their allegiance. On Monday, Shyamsundar
    Shinde, an MLA, joined the Eknath Shinde group.

    On Monday morning,
    Santosh Bangar left a guesthouse with the Shinde faction and followed them to
    the assembly.



     



    ·         
     Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray faction filed a
    new petition with the Supreme Court on Monday challenging the decision of the
    assembly's new speaker to recognise a new whip for the party.

    ·       The top court scheduled the case for hearing on
    July 11 along with other outstanding cases pertaining to the political
    situation in Maharashtra as soon as Abhishek Manu Singhvi brought up the issue.
