Heated West Bengal: Mamta to host Jana Garjan Sabha, Suvendu in Sandeshkhali

The political landscape in West Bengal is heating up as key players gear up for crucial announcements and public engagements.

Digital Desk: In a Mega Sunday showdown, Trinamool Congress (TMC) Chief Mamata Banerjee is poised to unveil the party's candidates for all 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal during a grand rally at Kolkata's Brigade Parade Ground. Dubbed the 'Jana Garjan Sabha,' the event boasts three platforms and a cross ramp at the Brigade. Approximately 600 party leaders spanning from the block level to the national level are expected to participate, with potential candidates gracing the stage.

Notable TMC MPs such as Sudip Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee, Sougata Roy, Kakali Ghosh Dastidar, Mahua Moitra, actor Dev, Pratima Mondol, Prasun Banerjee, and Sajda Ahmed are likely to be fielded again.

However, sitting MPs like Nusrat Jahan and Chowdhury Mohan Jatua might not be repeated. The final decision rests on Mamata Banerjee's discretion, who holds a pivotal role in shaping the party's electoral strategy.

TMC supporters have flocked to Kolkata ahead of the rally, accommodated in party camps across strategic locations.

In a parallel move, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari is set to address a rally in Nazat, Sandeshkhali, with the Calcutta High Court permitting the event under the condition of maintaining law and order.

The opposition CPI (M) plans to organise several rallies throughout the state, culminating in a Monday rally in Sandeshkhali, The Indian Express informs.
