They claimed that they had finally decided to join the NPP because they had seen a lot of positive changes in terms of developmental works.
Digital Desk: More than 500 leaders and supporters of the
Congress, BJP, and UDP joined the National People's Party (NPP) in Jirang
General Assembly Constituency, giving the NPP a significant boost and giving it
a strong position going into the General Assembly Election of 2023.
In the presence of the MDC Victor Rani and other party
officials, NPP Jirang Legislator and President of Jirang Constituency Block
Sosthenes Sohtun gave a cordial welcome to the leaders and supporters of the
border areas who had formally joined the party.
Several border issues were resolved by the NPP party in
Jirang Constituency, which had been pending for several years, but the NPP
legislator Sosthenes Sohtun did it in a short period of four and a half years,
according to the speeches of the leaders who joined the NPP camp. They claimed that
they had finally decided to join the NPP because they had seen a lot of
positive changes in terms of developmental works.
They added that the majority of the major problems in the
areas are the poor road connectivity, water supplies, and education sector,
which have been provided and changed by the NPP parties especially in border
areas in the last few years. They also shared that they will work hard to
retain the Jirang Assembly seat for NPP candidate. This will allow the
constituency and its people to see more positive changes and developmental
projects.
Sosthenes Sohtun welcomed the newly
joined leaders and followers and expressed his satisfaction at their joining
the NPP party. He also asked for their help in the upcoming MLA election in
2023.
The NPP, he continued, has been very
serious about committing to its vow to bring about change in Jirang Seat, a
highly underdeveloped constituency in Ri Bhoi District. He added that further
development projects would be given in the near future, especially to those
border communities.
