Union Minister and Congress veteran P Chidambaram has promised to aid the Assam
Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) in contesting the Citizenship Amendment Act
(CAA) lawsuit in the Supreme Court.
Chidambaram has
appeared before the Supreme Court and numerous Indian high courts. He became a
senior counsel in the Madras High Court after enrolling as a lawyer.
According to an
official statement issued by the APCC on Wednesday, "P Chidambaram has
assured to provide all legal assistance in the case before the Supreme
Court." He will also appear in court to argue the case if
appropriate."

Meanwhile, the
party's state head, Bhupen Bora, met with Krishna Sarma, the former assistant
attorney general for the state of Assam in the Supreme Court, and requested her
