Sonia Gandhi to Meet Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prasad Today After 6 Years
Mr Lalu had previously stated that he and Nitish Kumar would meet Sonia Gandhi in Delhi.

Digital Desk: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad to meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the national capital on Sunday to unite the entire Opposition against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

It is worth noting that this will be the first meeting between the three parties in over five years.

Both leaders have arrived in Delhi to attend a rally organized by INLD leader OP Chautala in Fatehabad district to commemorate the birth anniversary of INLD founder late Chaudhary Devi Lal.
Mr Lalu had previously stated that he and Nitish Kumar would meet Sonia Gandhi in Delhi.

"Everyone must be on high alert, and the BJP must be demolished by 2024. I'll be in Delhi soon to meet Sonia Gandhi. I will also meet Rahul Gandhi after his padyatra is completed "said the RJD leader.

Poll strategist Prashant Kishor, on the other hand, believes that meeting leaders of various political parties "would not make much of a difference" in gaining people's votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

He stated that such gatherings cannot be interpreted as Opposition unity or political development.

He went on to say, "Those who do not believe this must wait and see. It will undoubtedly occur. I will not respond to whatever someone says ".

Nitish Kumar met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav, Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during his most recent visit to Delhi.

Mr. Kumar met with opposition leaders after breaking with the BJP and forming a 'Mahagathbandhan' government in Bihar with Tejashwi Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Congress, and other parties.

Previously, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao visited Bihar and met with Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in an effort to forge opposition unity.

Meanwhile, posters depicting Nitish Kumar as a prime ministerial candidate in the 2024 Lok Sabha election were seen in Patna last month.

JD(U) posters promised good governance, with the slogan 'Pradesh mein dikha, desh mein dikhega.'

Another poster mocked the BJP with the caption, "Jumla Nahi Haqiqat Hai" (No lies only reality).

Furthermore, Tejashwi Yadav previously stated that Mr Kumar could be a "strong candidate" for Prime Minister in the 2024 elections.

In 2020, the BJP-JD(U) fought elections together and went on to form the government, with Nitish Kumar appointed as Chief Minister.
