competitiveness of domestic products on the international market. India spends
between 13 and 14 percent of its GDP on logistics expenses. While nations like
Germany and Japan, who are renowned for their highly developed infrastructure
and procedures for logistics, spend just about 8% to 9% of their GDP on
logistics.
More than 20 government organisations, 40 partner government
agencies (PGA), 37 export promotion councils, 500 certifications, more than
10,000 goods, and a $160 billion market are involved in the logistics industry.
States and China, which are placed 14th and 26th, respectively, in the 2018
World Bank Logistics Index for logistics costs.
