proposal to classify a number of tribal communities as Scheduled Tribes (ST) in
the states of Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Himachal, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

Himachal Pradesh, one in Tamil Nadu, and 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh have
been removed from Scheduled Castes and incorporated in Scheduled Tribes,"
according to Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda. Dhuria, Nayak, Ojha, Pathari,
and Rajgond are the five subcastes that have been included in the Scheduled
Tribes.
