Guwahati: Today the fourth team of the National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB) will be returning to the mainland. The team comprising of 60 members along with the NLFB commando have decided to shun violence and lay down their arms. The team is said to be present in the Assam-Arunachal border’s Kiyajuli area of Majbat on Tuesday.
A total of 32 cadres of NLFB surrendered to the Assam Police on August 8, thus returning to the mainstream. The surrendered cadres led by platoon commander B Horpa have already moved to a designated camp in Kokrajhar from Jharbari.
Earlier, the cadres with a newly floated outfit had laid down their arms and ammunition.
NLFB Founder M Batha, NIA’s most-wanted militant, who had surrendered in July along with his 22 associates before the government, was present to receive the cadres along with Assam Police officials.
NLFB chief camps located in Kokrajahar and Udalguri were likely to be cleared by August 15 this year. Batha further urged the other cadres to surrender at the earliest.
