Digital Desk: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday visited Sonitpur district for the inauguration of railway overbridge at Rangapara.
The construction of the railway overbridge in Rangapara was one of the most demanded projects by the locals.
Assam CM Sarma feels great to inaugurate this demanding project. Sarma has shared the pictures of the inauguration on his Twitter handle. The post read, "Happy to inaugurate railway overbridge at Rangapara, Sonitpur, fulfilling a long-pending demand of locals."
Moreover, Assam chief minister informed that this overbridge was constructed at the cost of ₹90.27 cr. This 804.7-metre railway overbridge has been built under the supervision of the PWD (R).
The construction of this overbridge will initiate help in easing the traffic and also help in bringing smooth railway crossing.
Assam CM also informed that the government had initiated several development steps at Rangapara like hospital construction, setting up high schools at TEs, starting the Science stream at Rangapara College, etc.
While addressing the public during the inauguration event, the Assam chief minister also informed that the government is trying to complete the flyover at Mission Chariali in Tezpur soon.
Apart from the inauguration of the overbridge in Rangapara, Assam CM Sarma also inaugurated an Inspection Bungalow at Rangapara in Sonitpur built under SOPD-G at the cost of ₹1.50 cr.
The double-storied building contains five double bedrooms, a conference room, etc. The IB is expected to boost tourism in the area.
