Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is the only BJP chief minister to rank among the top-10 most popular chief ministers of the nation, according to a poll conducted by India Today.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma was voted the 7th most popular Chief Minister, with a 56.6 percent approval rating. Additionally, he is the first chief minister from a BJP-ruled state to receive more than 50% approval.
The chief ministers as per their rankings are- Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik named as the most popular chief minister with a 71.1 percent approval rating, followed by West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee with 69.9% in the second rank, Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin in the third rank, Maharashtra chief minister Uddhab Thackeray in the fourth rank, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the fifth rank, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in the sixth rank, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in the seventh, Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel in the eighth and Rajasthan chief minister in the ninth rank.
According to the poll, 58% of respondents are satisfied with Narendra Modi's performance as Prime Minister, while 52.5 percent want him to be the next Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi obtained a 52.5 percent approval rating in January 2022, up to 38 percent in January 2021; on the other hand, Rahul Gandhi acquired the second rank; he was 46 percent behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
