Digital Desk: The Guwahati Police on Tuesday launched 24*7 information and distress helpline details for citizens of the city. Under this initiative, people can contact the police authorities to inform any illegal activities in their region.
Moreover, citizens can use the 24*7 Information & Distress Helpline numbers to inform the police if they are in distress. Additionally, citizens can send messages on either of these WhatsApp numbers.
Citizens can send messages to WhatsApp contact details 6026901246 or 6026901247.
Regarding this initiative, the Commissioner of Police, Shri Harmeet Singh, IPS, stated, "Our drug Infoline generated good leads. We wanted to expand the horizon and apply the learnings from there to provide easier access to the citizens so that they can reach out to us in need through these numbers for support."
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has earlier ordered police personnel to keep hawk eyes upon all the illegal activities taking place in the state. In this regard, several individuals associated with illegal means have been held.
