Baksa: In an appalling incident, a man identified as Biswajit Das was relentlessly beaten up by a group of men in Baksa on Thursday.
Reportedly, Das was kidnapped from his shop situated at the India-Bhutan border in Darangamela, Tamulpur, on Thursday evening.
As per reports, the incident is suspected to be a case of moral policing; it claimed that the assaulters were the men of Gorkha Students' body leader.
Post disappearance, a search operation was carried out and found Das in a critical state in a forest in the Shashipur area.
The incident heated the area, following enrage among the locals.
Das stated, "A group of 10-15 people came to my shop and asked me to go with them. Upon my questioning, they said that they had some important work that needs fixing, so come with us."
"They took me to a nearby dense forest before only there was a huge no of people present," added Das.
Moreover, Das claimed, the assaulters forcefully tied his hands and legs and beat him brutally here and there.
"They even urinated on me several times and broke my legs and arms," Das claimed.
The victim was then taken to Kumarikata State Dispensaries; however, the doctors referred him to GMCH due to his critical condition.
Later, Das's family members filed an FIR at Darangamela Police station, but the police didn't arrest anyone in link with the case until now.
One of his family members said, "Till now, police didn't take any step to find the culprits; he is beaten so brutally it can be ascertained that they wanted to kill our son."
"We want Justice for our son." added the family members of Das.
