Digital Desk: Manipur Election 2022 : On Wednesday, after speaking at two political rallies in poll-bound Manipur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah went door-to-door in east Imphal and Churachandpur.
Apart from Shah, numerous central ministers and politicians went out to campaign in Manipur on Wednesday, including Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton, and several central ministries and leaders.
"Today, during the door-to-door campaign in Churachandpur, I talked with the people of Manipur and asked them to bless BJP again with a thumping majority," Amit Shah tweeted.
After a door-to-door campaign in Bhamon Leikai in east Imphal, he added in his tweet, "Tremendous support and enthusiasm for BJP in Manipur."
On Wednesday, several party leaders campaigned for BJP candidate Biswajit Singh, including Assam Chief Minister, Union Minister Pratima Bhoumik, Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister, Manipur state BJP President A. Sharda Devi, Nagaland BJP President
Temjen Imna Along, BJP's national spokesperson Sambit Patra, party's National General Secretary (organisation) Ajay Jamwal, and Assam Minister Ashok Singhal.
Minister Singh of Manipur, who holds six critical portfolios including PWD and is heading for the third time in the Thongju assembly district, assured the journalists that the BJP would succeed in at least 40 seats.
Singh was the BJP's first MLA in Manipur in 2015, and he was instrumental in drawing several Congress MLAs and leaders into the fold, including incumbent Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the public at an election rally in Imphal.
