    Ten arrested in Nagaon as police bust sex racket: Assam

    Nagaon: Under Specific information, the police authorities of Nagaon district of Assam managed to bust a sex racket and detained ten persons, of which six are women connected with the case, on Friday.





    As per the information by police, they have been notified that a prostitute racket was under operation. 





    The house proprietor, recognized as Mridu Pawan Saikia, a resident of Lakhinagar Chariali, was additionally among the accused who have been arrested.





    "We have conducted a raid here today and arrested ten people in connection with the case. Of the 10, we have caught two women red-handed," stated the police continuing that some college pupils were further observed staying at Saikia's apartment on rent.





    Further, Rs 70,000 in cash have been seized from Saikia's apartment and various unacceptable objects. "Other people staying on rent will also be questioned in connection with the case," continued the police.





    The police smashed a sex racket in the Siyalmari region in Barpeta district in Assam in a different addition. The foray was carried on Sunday midnight at the apartment of Atabur Rahman. 





    The policemen continued that two youths have been arrested red-handed along with three girls on the scene. Furthermore, two bikes and some other unacceptable things were likewise seized, stated police.





    As per Nagaon superintendent of police Anand Mishra, the district police have taken some action to step up their force against the illicit exercises running on in the district following these cases.
