Ahead of the launch of Advantage Assam 2.0, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar visited Kaziranga with a delegation of foreign representatives.
Digital Desk: The Assam Government launched its second initiative under Advantage Assam 2.0 starting on February 25. The Foreign Minister traveled to Guwahati during Saturday night for participation in this event. The delegation of this program enrolled participants from 45 different countries.
On Sunday morning ,Foreign Minister Jaishankar, visited Kaziranga National Park with Assam’s Agriculture Minister Atul Bora and Member of Parliament Kamakhya Prasad Tasa. The foreign delegation alongside Jaishankar enjoyed riding an elephant to tour the Kohora forest zone within the Kaziranga National Park. An elephant named Pradyumna carried the Minister through the Kohora forest enabling them to view Kaziranga from new perspectives. Jaishankar participated in his first elephant safari during this visit while he named the experience as remarkable and absolutely enjoyable.
The Minister chose a jeep for the rest of his exploration tour within Kaziranga National Park. From the top of the Kothpara viewing tower, they observed wildlife, including the famous one-horned rhinos of Kaziranga .The Park’s spectacular natural environment along with its diverse wildlife made an intense impression on the Foreign Minister.
The international delegation representing 45 nations because of their members from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Malaysia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Cameroon and beyond shared similar awe regarding their visit. At the end of the safari, the Minister fed bananas to the departmental elephant and shared a photo session with all the delegates, creating memorable moments.
The foreign delegation had the opportunity to see Assam's natural heritage before the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 summit which will focus on displaying the state's investment potentials and traditional heritage treasures.
