    Assam government to provide full support to a 9th-grade boy who developed smart shoes for visually impaired

    Ankurit Karmakar, a ninth-grade student at Rowland's Memorial High School in the Karimganj district, has designed a sensor-enabled smart shoe that allows visually impaired individuals to avoid obstacles in their path.


    Digital Desk: Krishnendu Paul, a BJP MLA from Assam's Karimganj district, met with Ankurit Karmakar, a ninth-standard student who has developed a smart shoe for the visually impaired, and stated that the state government would provide full assistance to help him achieve his goal of becoming a scientist.


    At the request of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Paul paid a visit to the student.


    In an interview with ANI, Paul stated, "Ankurit Karmakar has designed a smart shoe to assist visually impaired people, which is fantastic news for us. When our chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma learned about the young boy's work, he directed me to meet with him."


    The MLA also stated that he forwarded the Chief Minister's message to the youngster.


    "He aspires to be a scientist. As stated by our chief minister, the government will continue to provide full support to the young boy in the future," he added.
