Gunotsav is an initiative by Assam Government, aiming to bring qualitative improvement to the school education system in the state.
Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday announced the Gunotsav results 2025 at an event in the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati. This year, 44,077 schools with 38,98,945 students were evaluated by 17,585 external evaluators.
Gunotsav is an initiative by Assam Government, aiming to bring qualitative improvement to the school education system in the state.
Sivasagar retained the top position, while Golaghat and Dibrugarh secured the second and third positions.
Sivasagar emerged as the top performer of Gunotsav for the fourth time.
During the announcement, CM Sarma lauded the initiative by the Assam Government and called it a "festival of academic progress."
The assessment was conducted in three phases from January 6 to February 7, with participation rate of 98.33%.
MPs, MLAs, and senior bureaucrats also participated in the assessment across 35 districts of Assam.
For the first time, Gunotsav assessed schools based on the students' uniform quality. The top position was secured by Sivasagar as well. Majuli and Charaideo secured second and third positions.
Based on their performance, schools receive A+, A, B, C, and D grades.
The 13,300 schools that received A+ grades will be awarded Rs 25,000 each.
