New Delhi: The International Boxing Association (AIBA) is set to confer the winners of the Men’s World Boxing Championships with uniquely designed belts and medals made from solid gold and silver.
The gold medallist will additionally earn $100,000 at the boxing championships. The silver medallists will receive $50,000. The bronze medal champions will receive $25,000.
AIBA president Umar Kremlev stated, "We wish to give our players more reasons to promote themselves and reach greatness. With this prestigious trophy, the winners will earn medals and belts to keep and use with pride. So, I am sure that this will trigger the younger generation to go into boxing gyms, practice hard and attain new heights."
The white gloves with coloured AIBA logos will substitute the usual red and blue as the event’s official gloves. “White gloves will signify the fresh start, integrity and transparency of our major events. We will do our utmost to assure a fair opportunity for everyone," said Kremlev.

Six hundred fifty boxers have registered for the world boxing championships. So, Belgrade, Serbia, will host the event across 13 weight divisions.
The big-ticket contest will be held from October 24 to November 6 in the Belgrade Arena. This is the second season Belgrade will host the Men’s World Boxing Championships.
The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) will assign a full squad for the championships. Asian championship silver medallist Shiva Thapa (63.5kg)will head the event. India will likewise highlight other Asian medalists in Deepak Kumar (51kg) and Sanjeet (92kg).
The game will further feature AIBA world boxing champions including Roniel Iglesias, Andy Cruz Gomez, Arlen Lopez, Julio La Cruz and Lazaro Alvarez. All of these champions hail from Cuba.
