Digital Desk: At the important IPL 2023 match on
Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians overcame Sunrisers Hyderabad by
an eight-win margin thanks to match-winning runs from Cameron Green and Akash
Madhwal. Mumbai's play-off chances have been preserved by the victory, while
Rajasthan Royals, who were also in the running, have been dropped.
Returning to the match, Mumbai finished the 201 chase with two overs
remaining as Green hit an undefeated century in only 47 deliveries. In fine
form himself, Rohit Sharma added 56 (37), but Nitish Reddy's stunning catch
ended his time in the middle. Akash Madhwal earlier spearheaded Mumbai's
recovery and took four wickets to hold Sunrisers Hyderabad to 200/5. The newly
introduced opening duo of Vivrant Sharma and Mayank Agarwal scored 140 runs for
the first wicket as SRH, who had been requested to bat first, put on a
convincing performance. Madhwal dismissed both batters after they had scored 69
(from Vivrant) and 47 (from Mayank), respectively.
