Digital Desk: The IPL 2023 mini-auction preparations are in full swing, and the IPL franchises are busy inking deals with players they wish to release and retain. They have until November 15 to determine which players they want to continue their association with.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is one of the most popular teams, and supporters of the Yellow Army are waiting to see if Ravindra Jadeja will continue to play for them. While nothing has been confirmed, reports stated that the all-rounder is not leaving CSK.
According to the report, the MS Dhoni-led team will likely release two overseas pacers. Adam Milne and Chris Jordan are two players that could return to the auction.
Milne joined the franchise for Rs 1.90 crore. He only played in one match for CSK before being injured for the season with a hamstring injury. He was hurt while playing for CSK in the tournament's opening match.
CSK had high expectations of all-rounder Jordan, who joined the franchise for a whopping amount of Rs 3.60 crore. He had a disappointing season, allowing 135 runs off 77 balls in four matches. Jordan was not a regular member of the starting lineup and spent the majority of the season on the bench.
While these two players may be released by CSK, the team may rely on other players to succeed in the coming season.
Going into IPL 2023, it is confirmed that MS Dhoni will continue to lead the side. He stepped down as captain before the start of the IPL 2022 and was replaced by Ravindra Jadeja. Due to Jadeja's poor performance in the first eight games, the franchise reappointed Dhoni as captain.
Jadeja, if retained, will once again play under Dhoni's captaincy. In December, there will be a mini-auction for the IPL 2023 season.
