Kohli had scored 6988 runs in 233 IPL games before the match against DC, averaging 36.61 runs per game. Kohli, though, has been in excellent form in IPL 2023, amassing 376 runs in just 9 games.
With a record-setting 973 runs in the 2016 season of the Indian Premier League, Kohli is the top run scorer in the league. With a top score of 113, he has also amassed 46 half-centuries and 5 centuries.

With a magnificent 186 against Australia in the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Ahmedabad, Kohli finally reached the century mark in a Test match.
In the Royal Challengers Bangalore team's season-opening match against the Mumbai Indians at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Kohli's excellent play continued. He top-scored for the hosts with a 49-ball 82 and combined 148 runs with an opening partner and skipper Faf du Plessis as they chased 172.
