Digital Desk: Big names like Joe Root and Shakib Al Hasan were among those who failed to sell in today's IPL, which took place in Kochi. The IPL 2023 auction begins today, with teams like GT, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Punjab Kings all looking to strengthen their respective teams.
Although the scale of this auction is smaller than the previous one, there is still a tremendous amount of expectation and anticipation. The 10 franchises is given the opportunity to make offers for 405 players, of whom 273 are Indian and 132 are from other countries, including 4 from partner nations.
Here’s a list of sold players of IPL 2023:
1. Cameron Green of Australia was close to surpassing Curran's record before being sold to the Mumbai Indians for Rs. 17.5 crores.
2. Chennai Super Kings paid 16.25 crore for Ben Stokes.
3. The auction table was also ignited by Harry Brook, who sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for an extraordinary 13.25 crore.
4. Former PBKS captain Mayank Agarwal was also transferred to SRH for Rs. 8.25 crore.
5. Kane Williamson was bought for Rs. 2 crores by Gujarat Titans, the current league champions.
6. Ajinkya Rahane (base price INR 50 lakh) was sold to CSK for INR 50 lakh (USD 60,000)
