New Delhi: At the 2021 Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) auctions, Pradeep Narwal became the highest ever brought player in the PKL.
Narwal was brought by the ‘UP Yoddha’ for Rs 1.65 crore on Monday, during the second day of the PKL auction for the upcoming season 8, in December.
Earlier, Narwal spends five seasons with the ‘Patna Pirates’.
After becoming the costliest player in PKL history, Narwal said, “I am blessed that UP Yoddha brought me, for the first time I appeared in an auction. I expected to be picked for over Rs 1.5 crore and it happen what I thought.”
Moreover, Siddharth Desai became the second most expensive player of the PKL auction after the Telugu Titans retained the player for Rs 1.30 crores from his base price of Rs 30 lakh.
Moreover, 22 overseas players were sold on the second day of the PKL auction; Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh was sold to the ‘Patna Pirates’ for Rs 31 lakhs, while Abozar Mohajermighani was brought by ‘Bengal Warriors’ at Rs 30.5 lakh.
Earlier, on season 6 of PKL, Monu Goyat held the record of the costliest player when he was brought for Rs 1.51 crore by ‘Haryana Steelers’.
The top five Indian players for the upcoming PKL season are- Pradeep Narwal (Rs 1.65 crores) brought by UP Yoddha, Siddharth Desai (Rs 1.30 crore) brought by Telegu Titans, Manjeet (Rs 92 lakh) brought by Tamil Thalaivas, Sachin (Rs 84 lakhs) brought by Patna Pirates, Rohit Gulia (Rs 83 lakh) brought by Haryana Steelers.
Pardeep Narwal made his debut in league with Bengaluru Bulls in 2015; Narwal mounts to success when he was with Patna Pirates. During his time with the Patna Pirates, he has broken many points records and currently sits at the top of the raider list, securing most points in the Pro Kabaddi League.
