Bowie, the former world champion in the 100m, died on Wednesday at the age of
32, according to her management organization.

"We're devastated
to share the very sad news that Tori Bowie has passed away," Icon
Management announced in a Twitter post.
"We've lost a client, a close friend,
a daughter, and a sister." Tori was a champion... a shining beacon of
light! We are heartbroken, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and
friends."
Bowie finished second in
the 100m behind Jamaica's Elaine Thompson in Rio before winning the world
championships a year later in London, finishing less than a hundredth of a
second ahead of Ivory Coast's Marie-Josee Ta Lou.
Olympic medalist Calvin
Davis died on Wednesday at the age of 51, according to World Athletics, the
sport's governing organization.
Davis won bronze in the 400m hurdles at the
1996 Atlanta Olympics and was a member of the US team that won gold in the
4x400m relay at the 1995 World Indoor Championships in Barcelona.
