Sourav Ganguly furious over selectors for leaving out Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in IND vs WI, T20I Series

Sourav Ganguly wasn't happy with the Indian selector's decision to exclude Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli...

Digital Desk: Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has questioned the removal of star batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from the list for the forthcoming T20I series against the West Indies.

While Rohit and Kohli lead India's Test and ODI squads, the senior bats have been left out of the T20I squad, with the selectors not explained. Both have not played a T20I since losing to England in the World Cup semi-finals last year. Ganguly believes that both Rohit and Kohli can still contribute to the squad in the shortest format.

"Pick your best players, regardless of who they are. Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, in my opinion, still have a place in T20I cricket, and I don't see why a Kohli or a Rohit cannot play T20I cricket. "Kohli was in great form in the IPL, and both have a place in T20 cricket if you ask me," Ganguly said in an interview with RevSportz.

In addition to Rohit and Kohli, IPL talents Rinku Singh, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Jitesh Sharma were left out of the T20I team.

In response to their displacement, Ganguly encouraged the youngsters to keep performing, saying that their time would come.

"All they have to do is keep playing." They will have to keep performing in whatever opportunities they are given. It occurs frequently. Only 15 people can be chosen for the squad, and only 11 can play. As a result, someone must miss out. "I am confident that their time will come," he added.

The first Test of India's West Indies tour begins next week, on Wednesday, July 12, in Barbados.
