Madrid: Tennis star Rafael Nadal has tested positive for Covid-19 upon arrival from Abu Dhabi last week. After making his comeback post his foot injury, this latest news of the player testing positive for Covid has been a big blow to him and his fans.
Taking to his official Twitter account, the player posted, “I wanted to announce that on my return home after playing the Abu Dhabi tournament, I have tested positive for Covid in the PCR test that has been performed on me when I arrived in Spain.”
Nadal tested negative for the virus, throughout his stay in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi, and also tested negative last Friday.

After a break from his injury, the Spaniard made a comeback with this exhibition event that took place in Abu Dhabi and Kuwait. The player lost to Andy Murray and Denis Shapovalov and has not been happy on the sporting event since his injuries.
“I am having some unpleasant moments but I hope that I will improve little by little,” tweeted Nadal.
Rafael Nadal was last seen at Roland Garros where he lost the semi-final bout following the foot injury, due to which he had to remain out of active sporting events. He even pulled out of Wimbledon, Tokyo Olympics and the US Open due to his foot injury.
