Digital Desk: Wrestler Bajrang Punia was granted bail on Thursday by a Delhi court in a criminal defamation case filed by coach Naresh Dahiya, who accused the top wrestler of ruining his image with his statement during the protest against federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
During the wrestlers' protest, Bajrang stated that Dahiya lacked credibility to oppose the protests because he was facing a rape charge.
Dahiya then moved the court, which summoned Bajrang, who had just been defeated in the Asian Games.
"Bajrang had sought a physical appearance exemption and had missed the first three hearings. He appeared in court today, and the court granted him bail. The next hearing date is March 5," advocate Rajesh Kumar Rexwal, who represented Dahiya, told PTI after the proceedings.

Dahiya had claimed in court that he had been acquitted in the rape case and that Bajrang's statements had tarnished his reputation.
Wrestlers Bajrang, Vinesh Phogat, and Sakshi Malik launched a protest against the WFI chief, stating that he had sexually abused several female wrestlers.
Singh, who is now facing charges in the case, has denied all of the charges.
