Digital Desk: As the legend of Cricket celebrates his 49th Birthday today, let's take a look back at his journey of 49 years and know some noteworthy facts about Master Blaster's career and personal life.

1| Tendulkar was ten years old when India won the World Cup in 1983, and it was a turning point in his life that inspired him to take up Cricket.
2| Sachin Tendulkar's father, Ramesh Tendulkar, was a fan of singer Sachin Dev Burman and chose the name Sachin Tendulkar for his third son.
3| Tendulkar wanted to be a fast bowler when he was 14 and even went to the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai. Dennis Lilee, on the other hand, turned him down.
4| Tendulkar first made a name for himself in school cricket when he and Vinod Kambli set a record 664-run partnership for his school, Sharadashram Vidyamandir. In the innings, Tendulkar scored 326 runs.
5| Ramakant Achrekar coached and mentored Tendulkar. During his adolescence, his coach would challenge him to go the entire session without leaving, and if he succeeded, the coach would give him a coin. Tendulkar owns 13 of these coins.
