Digital Desk: Elon Musk has found a new CEO for Twitter. Interestingly, Twitter’s new CEO is not a human but a dog. He is Musk’s pet dog, Floki, a Shiba Inu. The new Twitter CEO believes that his dog Floki would be a better CEO than the "other person," Parag Agrawal. Notably, Musk sacked Agarwal immediately after acquiring the company in a $44 billion acquisition. Along with Agrawal, Twitter's legal director Vijaya Gadde and CFO Nel Segal were dismissed as well.
Musk posted a photo of his Shiba Inu, Floki, sitting on the CEO's chair. In the photo, Floki is wearing a Twitter-branded black T-shirt with the word CEO inscribed on it. He also has a couple of documents with his paw prints on the table in front of him. Floki has a little laptop with a Twitter logo in front of him in case he needs to send an urgent email. Sharting the picture, Musk remarked, "The new CEO of Twitter is wonderful". In another tweet, he stated that the new Twitter CEO is far superior than the "previous" guy. He's alluding to Parag Agrawal, the former CEO of Twitter.
Musk had also communicated with Agrawal, and there was definitely no camaraderie even before the acquisition process began. Musk had dubbed joining the Twitter board a "waste of time" in one of his texts to Agrawal.
"What did you do this week... I'm not going to join the board. This is a complete waste of time. Will make an offer to buy Twitter out, "Read his SMS to Agrawal.
Musk has even written notes about his meetings with Agrawal to former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. According to the hacked discussions, Dorsey attempted to bring Musk and Agrawal together, but things did not go as planned. He stated: "We are completely in agreement... Parag is simply moving too slowly and attempting to please individuals who will never be satisfied no matter what he does." "At least it became evident that you can't work together," Dorsey responded.
When former CEO Jack Dorsey stepped down in November of last year, Agrawal was moved to the position of CEO of Twitter. His total remuneration for 2021 was $30.4 million, which he received in stock options. Agrawal's ten-year tenure with the organisation came to an end with his dismissal. He joined Twitter when company was still in its early stages, with less than 1000 employees.
