Netflix India ends password sharing, who gets free access and who pays; Check deets here
Netflix can track whether or not you share passwords with non-family individuals...

Digital Desk: Netflix has announced that it will send an email to all subscribers in India who share passwords outside of their households. With this, the business made it plain that Indians will no longer be able to share their Netflix passwords or accounts with outsiders.

While no one is receiving emails for this, Netflix did note in a blog post that it will begin sending them to users. Who will be able to use it for free and who will have to pay?

"A Netflix account is for use by one household," the firm states. Everyone in that family may use Netflix wherever they are – at home, on the go, or vacation — and benefit from additional features such as Transfer Profile and Manage Access and Devices."

This implies that anyone who lives in your home can use your Netflix account for free, but you can't share it with someone who doesn't live with you. If Netflix discovers this, you will either receive a warning or your account will be suspended. Netflix can track if you share passwords with non-household members by using your device's IP addresses, account activity, and registered Wi-Fi network.

On an advisory, If you go on a short vacation, Netflix will allow you to use your account outside of your home. However, if you are away from home for more than a month and attempt to access your account from a different location, Netflix will send you an email reminding you of its password-sharing policy. In this instance, you can modify the Netflix account's main household location to notify the firm that it is your account and that no non-household member is using it.

If you share your Netflix account with a friend, the person must visit your home at least once a month to continue using your account for free. To convince Netflix that your acquaintance is not a non-household member, he or she should be watching Netflix at your house while connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Keep in mind that you can only share your account for free with up to three other people if you have the Premium plan, which costs Rs 649. The Standard plan supports two devices and the Basic plan supports one device. The Mobile plan provides access through phone and tablet.
