Digital Desk: Samsung anticipates that Apple will release its first foldable iPad in 2024. According to TheElec, a Korean publication, Samsung's Mobile Experience team is optimistic about the foldable market after meeting with suppliers. As per reports, suppliers believe that Apple's first foldable device will not be an iPhone.
This is not the first time we've heard that Apple may launch a foldable iPad before a foldable iPhone. Apple has been experimenting with foldable technology for quite a while now. Analysts at CCS Insight predicted last month that Apple would release a foldable iPad by 2024. "We think they will shun that trend and probably dip a toe in the water with a foldable iPad," the chief of research at CCS Insight said in an interview to CNBC.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also believes that Apple is working on a foldable OLED panel and PPI between iPhone and iPad to validate key technologies. As per reports, Apple has partnered with LG to create a foldable OLED display panel with a very thin cover glass. As per earlier reports, the company is testing foldable goods, but it is still worried about the display and the market for the segment. According to the CCS Insight analysis, the cost of the foldable Apple iPad is anticipated to be around $2,500. (Rs 2,05,000).
Leaker Dylandkt stated that Apple wants to ensure that the first foldable iPhone is not a step back from the iPhone's existing design. Reportedly, Apple is also concerned about whether the foldable devices will be popular in the long run or not.
