iPhone 15 Pro Max likely to be renamed iPhone 15 Ultra
Apple dropped the iPhone Mini this year in favour of the larger iPhone 14 Plus, which has a 6.7-inch screen but is only powered by the A15 Bionic chipset from last year, with the A16 Bionic being reserved for the iPhone 14 Pro models.

Digital Desk: The tech juggernaut made it plain during this year's Apple Far Out event that the iPhone 14 Pro and non-Pro edition will differ dramatically in terms of both pricing and hardware. The earliest rumours of the iPhone 15, series have already started to circulate online just days after the debut of the 14 series.

Apple's iPhone 15 Pro Max can be renamed iPhone 15 Ultra, claims Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. This could be Apple's strategy for further differentiating the iPhone 15's top model from the iPhone 15 Pro. Currently, only a larger size distinguishes the Pro and Pro Max versions. The Pro Max model for the iPhone 11, 12, 13, and 14 series is essentially a larger screen and battery version of the Pro. The same features, functions, and storage options are provided by both. With the release of the iPhone 15 series, that might change.

According to a new claim by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the distinction between the iPhone 15 basic and Pro models will be even more pronounced, in order to raise the average selling price and shipment allocation. For some perspective, the A16 Bionic CPU and features like Dynamic Island are limited to the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. This year, Apple has already differentiated the Pro and non-Pro models quite a bit.

According to reports, this discrepancy might even be more noticeable with the iPhone 15 series.

Kuo continues by saying that the tech behemoth will also raise the price gap between the Pro and Pro Max versions, which might lead to increased sales and earnings. This supports rumours about the "iPhone 15 Ultra" even more.

The dynamic island, always-on display, and other recently added features are also exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Expect additional lineup rearranging the following year, along with other adjustments and enhancements, including a rumoured switch to USB Type-C.
