LG launches new rollable OLED TV and more in India, Check Details
This first-of-its-kind in India rollable TV costs a hefty Rs 75 lakh.

Digital Desk: LG India launched its rollable television called the LG Signature R-OLED and a wide range of conventional OLED televisions, including a 97-inch model, on Tuesday.

The Signature R-OLED, of course, is the star, with a rollable OLED display that transforms into a sound system when you don't need a screen, such as when you're not near the television or simply want to listen to audio.

While you might be ecstatic to see this technological marvel, the LG Signature R-OLED's price tag may not be for everyone. This first-of-its-kind in India rollable TV costs a hefty Rs 75 lakh.

According to the South Korean manufacturer, LG claims that its rollable TV uses "groundbreaking technology that reimagines what a TV is capable of" and that this should come at a premium. The LG Signature R-OLED does not need to justify its exorbitant price tag, but it will find only so many takers.

LG has a large selection of OLED screens for those who choose practicality above novelty. An OLED TV is available in sizes ranging from 42 inches to 97 inches, so there is one to fit any room.

LG also claims that the high-end hardware that powers its traditional OLED TVs makes them "perfect" for gamers. LG's 2022 OLED TV series is driven by the company's latest Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor, which is known as Evo technology when combined with various visual algorithms. "LG OLED Evo TVs have remarkable clarity and detail for lifelike images that deliver a true-to-life experience," LG India said in a press release.

The new LG OLED TVs are divided into three series: G2, Z2, and C2. While the G2 and C2 series use 4K OLED screens, the Z2 series features an 88-inch "world's largest" 8K OLED TV.

Everything on streaming services like Netflix and Apple TV Plus seems immersive due to these TVs' Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos capabilities. LG's new televisions run webOS 22, giving consumers access to features like Room to Room Share, allowing users to replicate content from one TV to another using a WiFi connection. Like Samsung's Frame QLED, the software allows TVs to transform into media screens.

It may be mentioned that the new range of LG OLED TVs starts at Rs 89,990 and will be available across online and offline stores soon.
