Digital Desk: Instagram, a photo-sharing app owned by Meta, has announced that it is testing a modification that converts video posts into Reels.
The company stated that the modification is a part of Instagram's strategy to simplify video on the app and is presently being tested with a small number of users worldwide.
A spokesperson from Meta stated in a mail, "We are testing this feature as part of our efforts to simplify and improve the video experience on Instagram,"
A screenshot shared on Twitter by social media strategist Matt Navarra revealed that participants in the test will get an in-app message stating that "video posts are now shared as Reels."
According to the report, if your account is public and you publish a video that is later transformed into a Reel, anyone can find your Reel and utilize your original audio to make their own Reel.
Your Reel will only be accessible to your followers if your account is set to private, it added.
